Job Description
The Vice President of Land Acquisition is responsible for seeking and reviewing acquisition opportunities within the Division’s targeted area focused primarily on Coastal Orange and Los Angeles Counties but including the portions of Riverside, San Bernardino, and Ventura Counties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Seek out, uncover, create, and review acquisition opportunities and prepare land-tracking report.
- Implement the land acquisition strategies as depicted by the current division business plan.
- Prepare and analyze financial pro formas.
- Structure and negotiate land acquisition opportunities.
- Analyze and understand the local market including preparation of market trend analysis consisting of new home and resale comps, studies, and graphs.
- Manage the due diligence review process with consultants and team members.
- Manage the legal review of land purchase agreements, and the title and escrow process.
- Work with consultants and team members to develop appropriate product and site plan solutions.
- Prepare and present land committee packages.
- Meet and communicate with brokers and land sellers, civil and soil engineers, title companies, and other consultants as needed.
- Other duties/projects as assigned.
