While the NAHB came out with a strong homebuilder sentiment reading in its latest report, March housing starts and building permits came in at figures lower than consensus estimates. Starts were at a 926,000 annualized rate while permits were at a 1.04 million annualized rate. Consensus estimates were for rates of 1.04 million and 1.08 million, respectively.
